RTM fails to display results on time.

The Nagpur University students are already suffering because of poor quality of valuation and late declaration of results. Now with the revaluation results also delayed, students are likely to lose a precious academic year.

According to some students, they had to shell out at least Rs 1,000 for the entire revaluation process. This includes compulsory charges for photocopies of answer-sheets. Then applying for the revaluation and also filling up of supplementary examination form which costs Rs 480. Controller of examinations (CoE) Debendranath Mishra refused to speak on the issue stating, "You should contact revaluation section."

Despite all this, the revaluation results take over two to three months to get released. Therefore, students have no option but to to fill up supplementary exam forms. To add to their woes, the candidate can apply for only two subjects for the revaluation, the results of which are actually out after the supplementary exams are over in most of the cases harassing the students. Though, the university authorities defended the late announcement of results stating that it was a facility given to the students not a right, the latter asserted that they have the right to apply of revaluation by chance if their any of the subjects are back.

The revaluation results of several faculties like engineering, BCA, BCCA, BA and BCom among others are still awaited with bated breath by the students. "It's sheer harassment for all of us. Even though we've applied for the revaluation, the results will be out after supplementary exams. Thus, we've to study hard for the same subject again. Actually, there is no point in applying as we are anyhow appearing in the winter exams," said Megha, an aggrieved BCCA student.

Another BCA student Rachit Joshi has cleared his final year but his second year results have been withheld due to which he is unable to get admissions for further studies. "I am on the verge of losing a precious academic year due to this. I am fed up with the system. Why have they started this facility," he asked.

The engineering students are worst sufferers of this facility. The university recently informed the Nagpur bench of Bombay high court that nearly 6,000 engineering students have applied for revaluation after the summer exams, once again putting serious doubts on the quality of valuation in 87-year-old institution. Among them 2,634 are third and fourth semesters students while 3,312 belong to fifth and sixth semesters.

These shocking statistics were submitted by university counsel while hearing petitions filed by several aggrieved students demanding provisional admission to next semester as their revaluation results are not yet declared. These statistics once again reiterates the fact that quality of education is on steep decline in absence of qualified faculty.
