Salty meal reduces Artery Blood flow within 30 minutes

A team of researchers in Adelaide, Australia claimed that in just 30 minutes after consuming a salty meal causes stiffening of blood vessels which makes them less able to move around the body compared to the normal rate, and ultimately reducing blood flow in the main arteries.

The quantity of salt taken in study was average , 4 gram for every portion. Before and after each serving of food, each volunteer's flow-mediated dilation was examined via the main arterial blood vessel in the upper arm.

And the observation showed blood flow was considerably more afflicted in just 30 minutes of consuming the salty food as compared to those who had the low-salt alternative.

Professor Graham MacGregor, chairman of the group Consensus Action on Salt and Health, said,"This research is of great interest. It clearly shows a rapid effect on the stiffness of the blood vessels."

Salt has been taken into consideration with heart failures, strokes, kidney illness, osteoporosis and stomach cancer.

The results of the study were released in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
